Bilsteins are on!!

i never imagined that these things would be such an improvement over stock. i am very impressed.

when i first got in my truck after the installation, i could tell it sit just a touch higher. not much, but enough to feel while sitting the drivers seat.

the ride has been greatly improved. it used to feel as if i were riding in a wagon. now, those little harsh jabs are gone. it's a very pleasing, very smooth. that edge and harshness i used to feel on a bump is gone.

the steering seems much more responsive now, a lot more on winding roads. much easier to handle.

it's kind of hard to put into words. i really never thought i would get this much improvement.

yep, got all four. $259.80 at eshocks. $120.00 for the install ($45.00 per side on the front, $15.00 per side on the rear) $379.80 total. i drive 80 miles a day and you better bet it's worth it. the best mod i've made on any vehicle i've ever owned!

Brannon: Sweet! Can't wait to get me some. What color are the shocks/dust covers? Do they look good under there?

yellow w/blue dust boots. yes, i think they do look good. all you can really see are the blue dust boots on the back. you can hardly tell the fronts are on there. no boot on the front, uses the stock dust cover.

Thumbs up

Awesome, I have been waiting to hear feedback about these shocks for quite some time now. I will be ordering mine next week. I had bilsteins installed on an older F150 (2000) and noticed that it did seem to sit a bit higher after the installation, I guess I wasn't the only one that noticed. Thanks for the info 1brannon1.

Where did you get them? Online or from local Auto Parts store? Since I rarely carry anything in the bed of my truck I'd like to have a smoother ride and the stock shocks seem very stiff. Of course my new truck still has under 500 miles on it but anything to smooth out the ride would be worth that cost. Fortunately I have a very good friend who owns a shop and would let me change them out using his racks and tools.

You dont need to be lifted to use these 5100 series right? Im eventually going to get a Daystar 2" leveling kit. Will it matter what series shocks I get?
