I was going to go with the Alpine D901 but it won't play while driving. All of Alpines stuff wont.

What!?! Yeah, that sounds safe for all the rest of us on the road....why the hell would you want to play and drive at the same time? I sure hope you mean for a passenger.

ThumperMX113 03-21-2005 12:36 PM

No way why do you think Im putting PS2 in there, of course Im going to be playing PS2 while Im driving.

No its for everyone else and whener Im stopped or something, at least I don't have my newspaper sprawled out on the steering wheel, reading it, sipping my coffee.

Plus that can still be done with a nice in-dash unit, and more stealthy so the bacon doesn't pull you over. I just want the in-dash Eclipse unit so I can watch porn on the morning commute. Gonna have to scotch-guard the interior first...

ThumperMX113 03-21-2005 12:39 PM

Are you sure the eclipses can play while driving?

but, you know thats actually how Alpine got sued a few years back and caused them to make it impossible to watch while driving. Someone was driving around watching a little porn and someone's little kid saw it. and they were scared for life.

The bacon might pull me over and ask if they can watch. They really don't care about that stuff around my area.

Thumper, Im pretty sure all you have to do is run the wire that goes to the parking brake to a ground and it will play all the time. Do a search, I know its been talked about on here before, but im pretty sure thats all you have to do.

dzervit 03-21-2005 01:46 PM

Yes, you can ground out the Eclipse sensor just like anything else... drive happy!

asinatra 03-21-2005 01:51 PM

Ya, i 3rd that. I actually had to send it to a "new" ground, for some odd reason the pioneer deck didnt like its own ground.

ThumperMX113 03-21-2005 02:00 PM

I wasn't sure about the Eclipse but the new Alpines won't work even by grounding it out or else I'd be going with the new Alpine D901.

acticus 03-21-2005 02:05 PM

You will be able to any of them to work while driving... use the pwoer of google. when i was thinking about change my radio of the Eclipse 2 dinn one the place i was going to get install from would have made it so it would have. they just told me that they would say they did not do if i told the pigs.

Remeber Anything is possible it all that matters is how much time to you want to spend

ThumperMX113 03-21-2005 02:23 PM

What did you search on google?

avn2454

I just got the avn2454 installed in my expy and all you have to do is gound the parking brake wire and you can watch while driving. This is important to me cuz my wife would want to watch something on along trip without having to sit in the back.

The installer told me the new 2005 units (most brands) won't let you watch while driving even if you ground the parking brake wire.
