Window trim part of doors shinny on 04's and dull on 05's?

sorry if this has been asked already, I did a search, but nothing came up..

You know the part that goes on the door right next to the window on the out side of the truck?? On the 2004's it's black and very shinny, on the 05's it's just black and dull? What happend here? Was there a reason they took the black shiiny part off and put in a dull peice? Was that just Fords way on trying to make the 05's look a bit different from year to year?

Just curious on why they went with dull black look instead of the shinny one they had for 04's?

I had an 04 Scab and now an 05 Screw and you are correct, the B-piller covers are now a dull black matt finish. I actually prefer the new finish over the old as the shiny stuff showed every little scratch and dent.

PS - to answer your question: I have no clue why?

My guess would be to save a little money in a place where it wont show too much. I liked the shiny posts on my 04 also but it was some type of tape applique and the dull on the 05's is probably the natural finish of the plastic. Figure 2-3 bucks a truck x 650,000 trucks is a bunch of $$$
