dome light rattle

Well I've had a rattle in coming from the dome light in my reg cab and its driving me nuts! Of course it only rattles when i have my sub when it is its pretty loud. I've tried everything possible to get it to stop. Does anybody else have this rattle or a possible solution?

Not sure of the regular cab set up, but my 04 Supercab with a moonroof had a similar rattle that eminated from the rear dome light area.

If you pull the dome light assemble out and look up into the headliner area, you should see two little foam spacer blocks. In mine, these blocks were the source of the rattle as they would bounce up and down and strike the metal roof. I simply put some additional foam between the blocks and the metal roof to take up the space and the rattle was gone. Hope that helps.

i was checking out the position of my light in the back also and noticed it really moved easily (back and forth). had the dealer look at it when doing the ashtray rattle problem and they did the same thing with the foam i believe...it is alot more secure then it was before.....hope this helps. good luck.

You have to pull the light assembly out as well as the cover to look up inside the liner area. It has a couple of plastic tabs holding it up there. Work it out gently, it will come out after a little effort. Again, I am not sure if your roof liner will have these foam blocks, but my Scab did and they were definitely the source of my rattle. Good luck.

This sounds like it could be the same problem I finally narrowed down in an earlier thread. Of course, I haven't fixed it yet.
