Wally's out, now where to get 5W-20?

Looks like Wally World is all out of Motorcraft 5W-20 here in Phoenix (I checked four stores). Besides the dealers (at $3+ per quart) is there another place to get Motorcraft 5W-20?

Castrol 5W-20 SemiSyn meets/exceeds Ford specs at much less than $3.00.

I combed the shelves for another syn-blend in 5W-20 but could not find it. Plenty of dino 5W-20. I'll double check for Castrol the next time I'm there, but I'm pretty sure they didn't have it.

AutoZone carries Motorcraft oil and filters. Looks like there are some stores in AZ......not sure if any are near you.

Advanca Auto carries Morocraft oil and filters

What part of town are you in? I'll be combing the shelves on the West side this weekend.

If you have some clean empty oil jugs you could ask your dealer if they could fill them up for you with 5w20 motorcraft bulk oil --its a lot cheaper then you can buy it by the qt. I work at a Ford dealership as a service advisor and we sell it that way if the customer brings in there own jugs. Doesnt hurt to ask your dealership

Hey 95f150,

I couldn't help noticing your location. Which dealership do you work at?

I'm in the far NE (near Cave Creek). I checked the W-M at: 101/FLW (one quart, I bought it), I-17/Happy Valley (none), 19av/BH (none), and 7av/Bell (none).

Thanks for checking for me!

I was going to be looking for myself, but of course I'll post the info if I find anything.

According to my local wally-world.... Motorcraft oil and filters will no longer be sold by anybody except Ford. All inventory is being sold, including what they have in the warehouses. So large stores like Autozone, will have some for awhile, untilll they run out. I don't know if this is true, just what they told me.

Just saw the new 5w-20 Mobil 1 at autozone.....pick some of that stuff up....man, its well over 5 bux a quart though:eek:

I skipped down to the closest Ford dealer (Lou Grubb), and they sold me a case for $2.93 a quart. Not bad, compared to other syn blends, but no where near the $1.67 Wally used to carry.

Actually, I called three dealerships, and Lou Grubb was the only one that had a full case of 5W-20. The comment they made to me was that they only try to keep 1-2 cases on hand, the rest is in bulk.

At $3.00/qt x 7qt = $21 + $6.00 for the filter = $27 + tax

Hmm, they quick lane service is only $24 (and they don't charge extra for the 5W-20 or the additional two quarts). Certainly has me thinking.

I just can't get out of my mind, when I lived in the city and had to go to the dealer for changes, I caught them not changing the filter time and again. I event went to the point of putting my initials on the filter to prove it, and they still insisted they changed it. Lying to my face. I've never trusted oil change dealers since.

I might be that last of a dying breed: guys that change their own oil.

I'd paid the extra to do it myself and know it's done right. There are plenty of people on here who change their own.
