I just got my F150 3 weeks ago, and I have a dust problem on the front wheels that I need to deal with.

I had an even worse dust problem on my other vehicle and I bought Advance Auto Friction Master ceramic for $50 for front pads. I recommend them. MH

OK, almost every post in the past has been when someone was either thinking about buying some, or have just bought and installed them. I am looking for people who have had them for 6 months or so to chime back in and tell us how they have done.

It takes a lot of effort for a big truck to stop. The brake dust is a sign the brakes are working. If you want an inferior ceramic brake pad be my guest. I almost had a wreck with them on my Lightning and they are hard on the rotors. I will never use ceramic pads again. Give me brake dust.

although not ceramic, but I've been giving reviews about the Porterfield carbon kevlar pads. Had them since June 04, about 7000 miles or so, and still working great. No dust, rotors seem fine. They started to squeel after a few thousand miles, and I just lubed them up with anti-squeel grease (Napa Disc Brake Quiet) and they have been quiet since.

How do you apply this stuff? Do you have to take the pads off and put them back on?

^yes, you have to remove your pads. The Napa stuff is actually a red gooey substance, and you apply it to the outside of your brake pads. You will see if you take yours apart where the caliper grabs the pad and the paint is worn down on the outside of the pad. I spread the gooey stuff all over the pads. You let it "setup" for 10 minutes or so and then reinstall the pads.

After I put my wheels back on, I realized the red stuff really stood out through the open FX4 wheel. So I took my wheels off and just grabbed some black spray paint and sprayed the outside of the pads and caliper with the black paint. Been working great ever since and not a single squeel.

I got ceramics on on my front brakes. They stop just as good as the OEM, but the dust is gone.

From what I hear about OEM rotors, I bet the pads will outlast the rotors.
