Question 133" WB Scab 4x4 taller than the rest?

First let me say that it is a pleasure to be part of this forum. I look forward to participating in some quality discussions about our trucks.

Okay with that said,
Anyone ever notice that the 4x4 Supercabs with the 5.5 box sit higher than all other models? Here are the specs from Ford:

Reg cab 4x2/4x4, Scab 4x2/4x4, Screw 4x2/4x4 (")

5.5 box
---/---, 74.0/76.5, 73.5/76.0

6.5 box
73.7/75.6, 73.5/75.6, ---/---

8 box
73.8/75.6, 73.4/75.4, ---/---

Anyone know where that measurement is taken? I would guess the front, but I'm not sure.
I'm thinking of just using the upper mounts from the daystar kit to level my truck since it's already an inch higher than most. Has anyone out there done this?
Thanks.

I think its due to the fact the short box bed weighs much less and the springs are the same on the trucks, hence they dont flatten out as much.

hmm...that would make the front end seem really low, but they don't in person. Maybe that made them raise the front suspension.

check out these pics of two stock ride height, with 133" WB, FX4's... don't they look a bit higher in the front than others?

Youd have to throw a tape on them. Tire size can infuence not only the actual height but the visual perception by looking at wheelwell clearances.

Question

I thought my truck looked like it had a higher stance than trucks with the 6.5' bed. But just wrote it off as my imagination!

I'm considering the Autospring leveling kit. Anyone have any idea what size lift I should go with? Does it make a difference since I have the 5.5 box?

I have the same setup Scab with 5.5ft bed and used the 2 inch autospring and I think it is now completely level, though I havnt measured yet.
