Cool blacked out projector headlamps
Projection Headlamps
I just spoke with Prefix, the makers of the headlights HHIFX4 posted; turns out those were a prototype product. I asked if they would eventually produce them for the public, he mentioned they hadn’t put much thought into it, I told him I was defiantly interested, those things are awesome, (BTW, thanks HHIFX4 for that post). If you guys want more info you can go to their site http://www.prefix.com, they have more pics on the site. Maybe some of you guys can contact them and let them know some of us are interested in the product.
I'd rather wait for the Harley Davidson version of the lamps to be released. Those lamps are beautiful.
If they had a yellow bulb behind that clear reflex plate then they could very well be legal. Well, thats assuming the projectors and park/turn parabola their using are within legal specs.

That would be awesome, nothing like the real thing, especially since you have a black truck as well.
Later Trev
I remember seeing this truck that HH posted at the 2004 NAIAS. this is one of the best headlights that I have seen with the same excellent LED tail lights to boot. They had the lights on at the show and they were just awesome.
I had spoken to the Ford rep there and they had indicated that prefix may make them for the public. I just sent them an e-amil also, I hope others that are serious about upgrading their headlights do the same as this was a top notch headlight that looks like it belongs on the truck...

The thing about those is that the projector is very small. I wouldnt doubt if they use h3 projectors for the main beam which are bad for headlights..should only be used for auxillary lighting. The thing about these trucks is that the truck is large and so are the headlights. Having small units like those make it look kind of strange IMO.
It does have a unique look to it though.

Yeah but I'm just having the hardest time finding a solution. I wanted to retrofit reflectors into the headlamp. It just seems impossible to retrofit a reflector in the place of the stock reflector even with the Lexus ones and have it look good. Of course I could go the route of projectors, but they look really funny when I just throw in the bmw style projector in the middle of my stock reflector, like the other guy did. Of course I could buy the euro style projectors, but they look a little too, well for lack of a better word, "ricey". I'm going to buy a second set of lamps to use the retrofit on instead of the stock ones I currently use.
Then I run into problem of going stock lamps or Harley Davidson style lamps. I have a aluminum billet grill, so I don't know if the Harley Davidson blacked lamps will look right.
Reflectors look the best, projectors work the best....which one is actually possible with are huge freaking lights?
Billet grill on a chrome and black truck...Harley Davidson style lamps or stock?
Too many possibilities on a hard project...but man will it be rewarding if I ever finish it.
