Angry My truck took a leak?!?! All over my backseat!

Well.....as I got in my truck today, i couldn't help but laugh to myself at what a great deal I had. I had just finished reading some posts on here about all the problems people had, and since I had owned mine, it was working perfectly....

The weather was raining and had been all night, and I thought, hmmm..that'd be really funny if my car had a huge leak in it (I had read a post just an hour or two earlier about that matter) I threw some things into the back seat and out of the corner of my eye saw some discoloration in my seat....

Upon looking back, the front of my back seat looked lighter then the rest of the upholstry....How weird!!!!! I arrived at work, opened up the back door and in the process of getting into the truck, put my hand on the backseat, and to my horror, realized it was wet. That light colored discoloration was actualyl the normal color of the upholstry....the rest of the seat was soaked through with water. I looked up and realized the back part of my ceiling carpet was soaked through!!!!!!

Then the shiz hit the fan....... So I now join the proud who have also had problems with there F150's and offer my condolences.... At least the dealership was easy to deal with... I'll get my synopsis tomorrow and hope that they dont try to say this isnt covered in the warranty.... those bas***rds....

So now it sits overnight at the dealer......with this leak.....and its supposed to rain tonight.... can life get any better? I submit that it cannot.... What could be causing the leak? So that way i'll have ammunition to go with tomorrow.... thanks!

ahhh...if only I woulda had that information with me I wouldn't of had to have left my truck overnight...and had them spray shi* all over my fresh wax job...and they did a horrible job of washing it off to top the "amazing" experience with my dealer. Thanks for the list...hopefully there are others that can use this!!!!

Soak your back seat with a little water and take it in I don't know if you want to cry wolf and do something like that, but if it happens, I'd suggest taking it in right away. It's more of a nausance then a threat to your truck. No need to take a trip down to the dealer if it's unnecessary. Just my two cents.

Why? Just exactly what do you expect them to do? Fix something that isn't broke? "umm... somebody else's truck had a leaky brake light so I want you to fix my brake light that doesn't leak"
Service people have enough real problems without dealing with make-believe problems.

Because it is a demonstrated bad part. Why wait until water ruins the carpet or worse - fabric or leather seats. Ford knows the third light is a problem and redesigned the gasket on the new unit. A 30K truck shouldn't have the potential of leaking - besides - the service people get paid to do this.

Furthermore - you would probably be doing Ford a favor - a buddy at work had the problem a week ago - along with the 30 dollar third brake light assembly - Ford is buying him new carpeting.
