Water in fog light follow up.....
As previously stated I had some water enter my for light fixture last week which caused the Silver Star 9005 bulb to explode and discolor the reflective material in the fixture.
This morning my dealer installed the new fixture under warranty.
To my surprise the technician that did the replacement mentioned to me that they have had several of these prior to mine.
He also explained that the windshield washer fluid had caused it by running down the upper drip rail of the fender and then dripping down into the fog light. He explained to me that this is why the broken light bulb particles in the damaged fixture were blue. I just thanked him, smiled, and drove away...
Looks like the fog light leaks will be covered under warranty...

I noticed when I installed my silverstar fogs that both the wire looms connecting to the fog lites were FULL of water. Apparantly they fill up with splashed water frojm the tires and with the loop in the loom it just fills up. Take a knife and slit the lowest part of the loom to keep it drained out, as Im sure in a few years, long after the warranty expires the wireing will short there.:santa:

Excellent to know that magic mouse trap style wiper fluid can get fog lights repaired under warranty.
