Spare tire situation w/ lifted trucks?
Spare tire situation w/ lifted trucks?
I'm going to be throwing on a 6" w/ 35's. How would you normally take care of a flat? Can anything bigger than a spare fit in the spare tire area?
Or is this simply a rely on Triple A situation?

I think you may be able to carry a 33" tire under the truck I doubt a 35" will fit. Right now I just plan on using the stock as a spare enough to get me home and hopefully will soon have an extra 35" tire waiting there. I thought about mounting a spare in the bed but between it and my toolbox I wouldn't have anymore space left back there.
What can AAA do for you? No shops in my area stock 35" tires so if I get a flat tonight I have to order a new tire and wait for it to come in.

I carried 2 orginal tires. One in bed and one under just in case. So if I got a flat I would have changed either both front or both rear as to not screw up gearing or steering. Never had to though.
Thats a good point that people need to be sure they understand. If you have the limited slip in the rear, and you blow a rear tire...both tires MUST be the same size on the rear axle. So if you blow a rear you will have to take a 35 of the front and put it in the back then put the small spare in the front.
I was thinking about getting the spare tire carrier for the bed of the truck but then I have to worry about yanking it out everytime I use the bed for something. I think I will just take my chances with the smaller tire.
