Installation of Bull Bars
 

I was just curious how easy it was to install Bull Bars (specifically Westin's) on a 2004. Did any of you install your own or did you have them installed? Any problems if you did install them on your own?

had theminstalled on my truck,, cost 65 dollars,, after seeing how they bolted them onto frame guess i could of done it myself,, looked like 4 bolts,, the rubber skirt under front bumper has cutouts for tow hooks,, these are where bull bar goes through,,jop

Just take the tow hooks off ( 4 screws) and install the bull
bar and align it, replace screws, 20 min job max.
Final result you save $65 bucks that you can use later to buy

An untrained chimp could install them in under an hour.

The only thing you may have an issue with is if you don't have the front tow hooks and need to trim the bottom facia. Otherwise it's bolt-n-go!

Piece of cake! Took me maybe a half-hour tops. Was going to put my PIAA 520's on from my other truck, but they look kinda rough so I'm either getting a new set or some Hellas.

Westin Bull Bar Installation On 04 without Tow Hooks
 

I have a 04 without tow hooks. The installation of the Bull Bar took a little bit of time. Had to cut out the indentions where the tow hooks are suppose to be. Than I had to get the mounting bracket bolts inside the frame, which took a little work. Basically, I used weed eater string, because of the stiffness, and flexibility to snake the bolts through the frame without having to remove the entire black bottom portion of the bumper. Once the bolts are in the frame, it didn't take much longer to get in mounted and installed.

Its easy, it took me about 15 minutes to get it on and aligned how I wanted it. :thumbsup:

It doesnt get much easier than installing a bull bar. Took me aboup 10-15 mins with air tools. It really helps to have air tools because those 4 bolts holding my tow hooks on were pretty tight and may be hard to get out with a regular ratchet and socket.

WOW I can not believe someone resurrected this thread from over a year ago. Now that is doing some digging

Yes they are hard to get with a regular ratchet and socket.

I guess no one can rant about him not using the search function.
