Me & Airaid ~vs~ The Dealer
jpdadeo sez...
Very poorly, they are, but that's another thread...
Anywho, that dealer sounds like a jackass. I've heard of SVT dealers that replaced motors under warranty that have been sprayed or pulleyed, and they're giving you static over an air intake? Blah. Find another dealer.
I can’t figure out why some dealers have that attitude. They are paid for warranty work whether you have mods or not.

i think i read somewhere on the internet about warrantys and modifications to your vehicle, it stated that your manafacture and or dealer can NOT void your warranty due to ANY modifications you have made to your vehicle...... a tech has to prove that the modification to your vehicle is what screwed up a certain problem, otherwise if they can not prove that the modification was the cause, its still under warranty
True i heard that also. Why would a tech care, if the warranty pay time covered his time. If the mod added some serious time he may not want to repair for lost money on his check. We are all here to make a living .Say Warranty pays 1hr and it takes him 1.5 hr's or more that may digruntle him some. Racemags breather could not have effected the a/c unit since it is not wired intergral with the fuel system. Sounds like a dealer with a duh for a answer.

final chapter........
Well......after deciding thru the night that I was just going to go get my truck in the morning and find another dealer, I call the dealer at 9:00AM and ask if my truck is ready....he sez not yet, so.....I tell him yeah it's ready alright....pull it out front and here I come. He sez I can't do that right now...we have your dash completely out!! I calmly tell him to put it back and call me.
Well....he calls 2 hours later and tells me my truck is fixed and ready to go! Seems they traced it to my wiring harness and found the wire / relay that controls the A/C clutch had come apart.
Of course I told him that the "air thing" probably did that!!
You could've heard a fish fart when I said that!! Anywayz....I celebrated by getting a Flowmaster catback and found a recommended dealer to deal with.
Can't wait for the call from Ford asking me to rate their service

it is illegal for a dealer to deny you the OE warranty when adding aftermarket products. For more details, contact SEMA, the trade organization of the automotive aftermarket which has been instrumental in protecting such consumer rights, at www.sema.org, and they can refer you to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975.
that should answer your questions on the warranty issue. hope it helps.
