Loud Airaid
I do have the new tube that was shipped directly from Airaid and the noise is still the same. As the last post stated, I will try and snug tight everything again. I'll post when it is complete. Maybe this will fix all of our woo-ful droning sounds.
Thanks again for all of the advice, fellas.

Guys, interesting bit of info on these intake kits..makes you want to wait a little. Not sure how to insert the link here but go to "chips and programming" forum and read the thread titled "air force one kit" Very interesting reply from Mike Troyer.
Yeah, that was a very thorough reply on Mike's part, but.......The airaid is basically the only one at this point, with the new redesigned intake tube, that will not cause the lean condition. I had the engine light come on with the old tube, and now since I got the new intake tube, the truck seems to run better, intake is quieter, and no lean condition. Airaid is the only other intake Troyer's sells beside AF1, and when I spoke to Anita about she assured me that this was the only other intake on the market that would not throw the lean conidition. I highly recommend the airraid kit to those who dont want to wait for the AF1. I love my Airaid!
I agree with roboots21 that until Air Force 1 gets its act together there is only one choice. I've had my Airaid for over 6 months from Troyer and never had a problem. Sure its a bit louder as it does not have the accessory sound chambers the stock unit has to deaden the intake sound but it performs, period. I bet that when and if the Air Force 1 hits the market it won't be much quieter either.
It seems the longer I have it the less droan I have at 1700 to 1900 rpm. At first I was concerned my #1 gal would not like the sounds it made. I took it kinda easy for a time but now I don't pay any attention to it and neither does she.
Modding this toy has been a blast. When you got a tune by Mike Troyer you put a foot down and this 6K# hunk of steel, rubber and plastic steps right up to the plate. Got Troyer e-fans on a UPS van right now heading my way. I can hardly wait !

Airraid Noise
Had the same resonance issues described in these posts. Contacted Airraid and was told "thats just how it operates".!!! Was going to switch it out for a K&N but sounds like they do the same thing. Like said in here not too loud just gives the same reaction as scratching fingernails on a chalkboard (for some). Guess I will return it and try the "homemade drain pipe intake". Sounds like will give some increase in performance and MPG without making you want to turn off the O/D. The range for me seems to be 1200-2000 "under load" for the resonance which is basically daily city driving stop/start. Oh well.... the magnaflow exhaust that I did at the same time sure sounds good!!!!!
