1714 and Airraid!

Just finished ordering both of these. Man Troyers is great! Great service! GREAT price!! Cant wait to get them and get them installed!

Next week will be my exhaust! The FX4 just turned over 250 miles, so its ready for some much needed performance!

It will be interesting to see which truck performs better, my stock 04 4x2 Lariat Screw or my tuned, intaked' and exhausted (lol) 04 FX4!

Any bets on which will be faster? lol.

Colby:

Make sure when you put that intake system on you make sure the seat around the throttle body is firmly planted around that seal. Also make sure they send you the 2 hex bolts that go onto the MAS you cannot use the stock ones off of the old intake unless you put on some extra washers for spacers.

Put the Air-intake on first before you SUPERCHIP it. Drive it around a bit and make sure the OEM light doesnt come on. Then if everything is looking good Superchip it.

Other then that I must admit you will notice an immediate difference in your response when you put on the intake and the 1714 SuperChip Tuner. You will definitly love your truck even more.

Great choice on both!

Thanks for the tips! Did the same mods on my 03 Screw, but used a K&N FIPK and Hypertech tuner. Worked great!

I was planning on waiting for the 9100 or getting the Diablo Preditor. But the 9100 isnt out aand I couldnt get the great discount on the Preditor! Maybe in the future I will get one of the "newer" tuners. But for now its the 1714! I just hope I dont have to send the tuner back like some others on here.

sounds good... good luck with it and let us know how it turns out! Also..... do you have a reg cab fx4? I ask because mines reg cab and i have yet to find exhaust kits for the reg cab. Only seen them for super and crew cabs.

ShadowedFX4 look at a local exhaust shop they can install a performance exhaust for a resonable price . I have a IMCO performance there online.

Mine is a Screw. But it doesnt matter anyway since I am getting a custom exhaust.

Yeah Bullitt is better. They fit it to truck then weld all seams no clamps.

It will be interesting to get my truck dynoed after all my mods and see whats up. To bad I wont have a baseline though...

One of the best tools that you could have for the install is a short stepladder or something similar. Getting that rubber ring to seat can be tough if you can't get the leverage... you damn near have to climb under the hood to do it right.

I tuned mine first, but made sure of the intake seal when I installed the Airaid. No warning lights. That OEM intake is a BEAST!!!

The combo of Airaid and 1714 tuning is very nice indeed... and I see from the Fedex site that my Borla is on the truck for delivery! :rocker:
