That looks swwweet porkchop! That's definetely the look I want with mine. Why just spacers though on the front? It seems to me like the spacer would put the wheel and tire out further than the back... Seems like the front and back would you would want to be the same. Am I missing something?
I might go with the 285's though for a tighter fit. Wish Nitto made something in between though...like a 315.

 

I'll be getting a 1/2 inch spacer custom made for all four wheels. This was a temporary fix. Since I don't trust the generic Pep Boys spacers I'm getting a set made that are both wheel centric as well as hub centric. Even then all four tires will still be within the wheel wells.

Does the spacer put the wheels further out. What if you just dont' use the spacer? How much difference is there in the look? I mean, what does the spacer accomplish I guess is what I'm trying to get at.

 

As far as I know no one manufactures the "correct" spacers for our trucks or most trucks for that matter. Most people just use the universal kind sold by your local parts store.

Hub-centric spacers are the kind that have the center hole matched to the hub just like the brake rotor hats. This means that they can only go in one way and have no room to slide around.

A wheel-centric spacer matches the the diameter of the wheel itself.

The ones I'm getting will do both. The point is the spacer should not move at all when placed against your brake rotor hat and the wheel itself. A spacer that moves will cause bolt failure eventually.

Yes the spacers will push the wheels out, by a measely half an inch. Not enough to be noticeable but enough to keep the tire rubbing against part of the frame when turned completely.

 

I see. Who would make something like this custom? Is yours being made local, or are you ordering from some place?...and what's the cost, if you don't mind.

 

Hey porkchop, truck looks great. How was acceleration/mileages changed by putting those 35's on there? You still like em'? What did you end up doing with the spacers?

 

Ride is great. The mileage is about the same. Since I have 3.73 gears the taller tires give me the equivalent of 3.55's which is adequate. I can cruise at 75mph @ a lazy 1900 RPM. The spacers have been tossed in favor of the MB Motoring Blitz which pushes the wheel 1/4" outboard and allows the tire's sidewalls to straighten out due to the wheel's extra inch in width.

You mentioned that as long as you put in the spacer, they will fit fine with the Autospring 2" lift.

I have the DayStar Leveling kit. Do I assume they should fit fine there as well? I have been wanting new tires without loosing my OEM rims. Yours looks perfect!

No rubbing on complete turns, correct? With the spacer of course.

 

What size rims are those MG motoring Blitz and what backspacing did you get?

As far as I know, the MB Motoring Blitz only makes an 18" rim in 8.5" & a 10" width inthe 6 on 135 bolt pattern. No spacer is needed since they have the exact offset/BS for our trucks.

I only used the spacers when I had the OEM wheels which made me uneasy.
