The stock rims put the tire in the space it's supposed to be. Any farther in and you'll rub on the upper A-frame or the wheel well on turns. Much farther out and you'll be sticking out of the wheel wells, then you'll have to jack it up 6 inches so the top of the tires don't hit the fenders on big bumps.

PS. About the Daystar 2-1/2" front leveling kit. The product is good, The instructions are armature. The instructions are full of mistakes, omissions and contradictions, the photos are tiny and of such poor quality, they are useless. So, Daystar (if your listening) why not get some decent instructions for you fine product? If you don't have the capability in house, spend a couple bucks and hire a professional.

Thanks for the info. We are thinking about doing the Autospring 2.5" leveling kit on the 4x2 Lariat and using the FX4 rims with the 325/65/18 on the stock FX4 rim. Hope this works!

Would that tire/rim combo fit? The FX4 rims are 7.5" and the 325/65's are roughly 12.5+" I'd think it would be kinda risky, but if I'm wrong please correct me.

I'd really like to get 325/60 grap's for my dads FX4 and NOT have to buy new rims...

Just had the Nitto 325/65-18s put on the OEM rim. They fit fine within the confines of the wheel well. However they rub on a part of the frame when turned well before full lock. I'm not sure I want to give up what little maneuverability I have. I'll go back tomorrow and see if the tire shop can put on a set of spacers up front. If not it looks like I would have to get new wheels after all. Hopefully I can get by without having to lift it. The OEM ride height with the Autospring spacer seems to be the ideal height for me.

There have been a few people that have put the 325/60 18 Grappllers on the stock FX4 wheels. I personally wouldn't do it. The recommended rim width for those tires is 9.5" That's 2" wider than the stock wheels. It might work OK but I don't like the look of the tire bulging out from the wheel that much.

I agree that the 325/60-18s are a bit too much for the OEM rim, however the 65 series tires specify a minimum of 9" and since they are taller tires they don't look as strained as the 60s.

I went back to the tire place and they placed 1/2" spacers on the fronts and the tires now clear everything, lock-to-lock. They are temporaries since they used the generic type. I'll be ordering some custom made ones on Monday. For those interested in mounting 325/65-18 Terra Grapplers on their OEM 18"x7.5" rims the 1/2" spacers are necessary. There is no binding along with full suspension travel. They also tuck in the truck's body. No cutting or trimming is necessary. Will post pics tomorrow.

For those thinking of using 325/65-18 Nittos on their OEM 18"x7.5" wheels...

...just remember to put a 1/2 inch spacer on each front wheel.

Porkchop,
Nice truck man! I love that tires w/ rims!

So, hows it on wet road and all weather? is it similar to BFG ATKO?

Thanks!

Every one that i talk to said that they do not recommend the spacers, that they weeken the Rotor.

Im thinking about just going with 285/65 BFG AT KO's on the FX4 rims. Those shouldn't have any fitment issues at all.

The only downside is that they really aren't much bigger than the stock tires...

The best looking combo would be some 18x8.5" welds with 325/60 Nitto's...now if only I had the cash...

Don't know yet. Rain is hard to come by in sunny Southern California. Although it rained recently, I had the OE Wranglers on.

No louder than the original tires from the factory.

I've run 1/4" spacers on my Cobra for the past 3 years with no problems whatsoever. As long as high quality spacers like those from H&R or these are used and properly installed and torqued there shouldn't be any issues. You do have to check them periodically.

None whatsoever, and full suspension travel.

Nitto 325/65-18s put on the OEM rim

2-1/2 daystar front end "leveler, no spacers, no trimming, no rubbing at all. No Big Foot but, truck now looks healthy and aggresive, looked kind of sickly with stock size tires. New Nittos have very low noise. As far as rim width, tires don't looked "sucked in", look good. 35psi in front 30psi rear gives full tread contact. Go big or stay home.
