Anybody play with the shift pressures? 1714

WHOO HOO got my programmer today...

The shift pressure at 1-2 seems WAY to much to me... its pretty nasty at full throttle and still nasty at 1/3 and 1/2 throttle.
Is it just my truck (from truck to truck) or am I just a wuss?

Seems pretty hard on the drive train... but definatly moves you back in the seat.

I lowered the pressure to STOCK+10PSI.... it might be a little light, might go to 12.

Still a little rammy at full throttle but fairly smooth at 1/2.

Anybody else lower the pressure or do you all like that ram ?

And the thottle lag is gone too!! Yes
Like everyone else says this is how the truck should have come from the factory.

This product gets two banan's

I went to +6psi over stock and that has been working pretty good for me. The superchips setting is a bit harsh.

I agree!

I adjusted my first to second pressure to 16 on the tuner.
Much better... very smooth shifts.

I went with superchips and at 2800 rpm the shift is firm not bad at all. At 4400 rpm it thuds you back alittle .Today i did a 5100 rpm shift and it was alot more aggressive shift . So you guys say about 12 to 16 psi over stock. I wonder what superchips is set at may call in the morning to ask.

Stang let me know what Troyer tells ya I am interested in maybe moving mine around a bit if it makes for a smoother shift.

yall arent hard core

I don't think it shifts hard enough on +20psi. I like my tires to squak at any throttle position and any rpm

im shifting +5mph 1-2 shift and +10 on the 2-3 shift, superchip's on 3-4 shift. Alot better then the gay superchip setting of 5050-5100rpm

just the opposite ristuccia, the smoother the shift the more wear on the tranny. This is due to the slippage and bands moving more, causing them to wear more when you have a smoother shift. The harder shift is better for the tranny, and I love the superchips setting, it is def not too hard! I don't see where it is hard at all. Anyone that has ever rode in a muscle car or truck with a street/strip shift kit would know that the F-150 is nothing harsh!! haha

+20 psi for me. the harder the shift the better. less slippage and wear on the tranny as it goes from 1-2-3-4

On my old truck I had a 5.4 with a Magnacharger supercharger, Superchip and a Transgo shift kit so the shifts with the 1714 on the '04 aren't *****. Just right in my opinion.

Yessss!!!

I haven't tweaked anything yet... filled up with some 93 octane last weekend and loaded up the Performance program.

Between the feel of that and the sound of the Airaid... yeah baby!!!

You're right about the tranny, but what about the U-joints and the rear end? Did Ford build these parts tough enough...

If they didnt, those parts are junk then and should be thrown away instantly.
