But what's it look like when you tow something?
 

I have a question for everyone who is buying the leveling kits. What does the truck look like when you actually use your truck as a truck, either with a load in it or towing something?

FX Chick - depending on the load, the rear will sag. Your truck will not be level no 'mo! How to avoid this ugly senario? Had a spring shop toss on a '1/2' leaf to aid in the sag (you do get a slightly siffer rear end w/o a load) or do it the RIGHT way, slap some airbags on that bad boy to level out when carrying a load, and zero effect on ride when not under load. Now, airbags will be pricier, but that's obvious. Keep in mind you must watch the payload with airbags, you don't wanna overload them like so many shmucks do. Also, you have to ensure they have 'bout 5psi in them at all times to prevent damage when not carrying a load.

The leveling kits make a truck kind of dorky looking when loaded..Best way to avoid this is not to raise the front end.

This is the reason that my Daystar kit has been sitting in the box in my closet for 8 months now. I can't bring myself to install it. I tow a 21' bass boat and my truck is riding within an inch of level with the boat hooked up. If I lift the front 2" it's gonna get ugly. Plus, I'm not so put off by the stance of the truck these days. It had kind of grown on me.

I should probably break down and sell the Daystar kit to someone who will use it. Anyone interested?

My truck is level still when i tow, but that is with a boat behind it, cince it is back heavey and not 2 much on your suspention. most towing you will do wont sag the back unless you have a huge trailer or a horse trailer. i think it depends on where the tires are on the trailer.

leveled trucks shouldnt sag unless you are doing some heavy duty stuff:D

That's what I did except I used the 5000lb kit. I have the Autospring 1 5/8 lift. Actual front rise is just over 2 inches. It looks great.

I added the Firestone Air Bags and can tow a 7800 car trailer. With air in the bags, it still looks perfect. For sure it's the answer. The ride is not affected and you have complete control for any load you want to carry or tow.

about how much and where can i get the air bag's and do you use them to just raise the truck or do you also use the bags to lower the truck im used to air bags lowering the vehicle i used to be a domestic car tuner

The bags themsevles will be around $200-250, and a compressor & goodies are under $150-200. This assume only occasional usage. If you use tow/haul alot, get a better compressor package.

They are ONLY used to aid in load support. IE, to level the truck when towing or hauling a heavier load. Always ensure you do not over load the truck or air bags. Many folks think you can carry more with the bags... not so. Always obey your payload capacity.
