Ford's base F-150 to get V6, stick options in November
|
As heavy as the new F-150 is I wonder how useful a manual V6 would be for typical work. Towing capacity would drop like a rock (obviously), payload might go up a bit over the 4.6 because of reduced weight. I could see the city buying some for motorist assistance or marker vehicles, except they only buy automatics now.
I have to wonder if someone is already looking to trade capacity for a lower price and better gas mileage why they wouldn't look at a Ranger instead. Predictive |
I think that manual is a good idea but they should put it behind the 4.6 V8. I think that the 4.2 V6 is going to have a little trouble moving this beast.

if your looking for better milage, the v6 should be the last place you look. I had a 99 4.2 std and I know the same truck with a v8 got better milage than mine...
that little engine has to work harder to move that thing around. |
