polished aluminum wheels?

Does anyone know why they went from the polished aluminum to chromed steel (on XLTs)? Mine is a really early build (11-07-03) & it has the aluminum wheels.

It's simple: steel=less $$ production cost per unit.

Ah, that's pretty simple. I was just hoping there wasn't a problem with the aluminum ones.

added benefits:

same thickness of steel is likely to bend/warp
less chance of air leaks ( a problem with some aluminum rims)
