Top Speed For 04 Lariat

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE TOP SPEED IS FOR THE O4 LARIAT? I BOUGHT THE XLT DUE TO THE FACT THAT I DONT LIKE LEATHER AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE MY TRUCKS REV LIMITER SHUTS DOWN AT 100 MPH I JUST WONDER WHAT THE TOP SPEED OF THE LARIAT IS BECAUSE IT DOES HAVE THE BIGGER 18 INCH WHEELS AND TIRES.

Are you regretting buying a TRUCK, cause it only goes 100mph? Where do you like in madera, cause you got that long strip of the 41 to get into fresno.

The PCM's speed limiter is supposed to be factory set at 100 mph for all the '04 models. Some have reported variations, most likely due to variances in speedo calibrations.

Also, please try not to type your posts in all capital letters.

Anyway I dont regret buying the truck I just think if a lariat's top speed is 115 or 120, I would seriously consider buying one. I can't stand being beat by my friends in their chevy's and dodges.

I believe that Troyer Performance says that their custom tuning removes the limiter and that on a truck that they tuned and is otherwise stock they got to somewhere around 120mph.

Well I was mainly curious about the top speed of a lariat. But since you guys have brought it up. Where can i get this mod and does it affect the warranty. Also what does something like that cost?

Mike Troyer (after the custom tuning removed the limiter) pulled 130+mph in his loaded 4x4 Lariat. My truck shuts down at 100mph and still has PLENTY to go.

Look at your RPM's and see where you are at cruising at 100mph and compare it to the redline. You might get an estimate worth going off of.

Don't forget WHY it shuts down @ 100. The brakes aren't made to bring the 3-ton beast to quick halt from 120mph, and most tires on various models cannot sustain high speeds before ripping apart. Check your tires before F'in with the limiter! It could get ugly!

A few weeks ago, I was doing 125. Oh, excuse me, I was driving the the 03 lightning, not the 04 Reg cab 150. Sorry, I get confused.

Ford trucks, not "like a rock," built to roll!
