desratt,

There were a couple of threads on the 2005's when the ordering guide 1st came out. You might find some helpful information in them, too:
2005 Ordering guide shows new options
2005 Info
New F-150 order guides are out!
Good luck!

You will have to get the 4.2L V6 to get the manual, same old 4 speed auto on both the 4.6 and 5.4L V8s.

This is probably to cause the engine noise to drown out the almost sure to be Rear End Howl.

I would like Ford to make an FX4 thats actually more offroad savy than the other trim lines (say a little 3" lift and tires). All you get with an FX4 is a different interior, and last time I checked it didnt help me too much on that trail.

Yup... just like the big '97 redesign, they run production of the 'older' style for one year, then it's gone for good. If I were you, I'd put it up on block in the garage and keep it as a collectors item.
