Fires in 2004 F-150's ?????

A guy I work with had asked me if I had heard about fires in the 2004 F150's. He said a firfighter friend of his has been called to 6 new f150 fires.........might all be BS i'm not sure cuz I haven't heard of any. Has anyone?

Only fire in my truck is in my g/f's pants!

I've not heard of it and I would not spread such a rumor (I know you're just asking, not trying to spread anything).

Unfortunately, in this world bull***** travels a lot faster than the truth. The smell acts as a twin turbo or something...

I have experinced a hot spot in the seat once in a while but that's as close as I have come to hearing anything about it:devil:

Sounds like PURE, UNADULTERATED, BOVINE SCAT to me, another urban myth in the making. My son and his wife, both firefighters, (City of Portland & Clackamas County Fire District 1) report nada, zip, zero '04 F150 fires.

As does my Firefighter brother in Bentonville Ar. as well.

yeah i figured it was BS........found out the guy that mentioned it drives GM's......hehe. My truck does get pretty hot though but it could be due too the fact its black and parked in the Texas heat!

No data found to support that statement-

I call BS on this one. I work in a city of 150,000 people with a major highway going through it. We get lots of vehicle fires but doubt if we've had 6 of any make of pickup truck fires in a year, let alone all 04s. Come on!

PC Poppy Jul 16, 2004 07:53 PM

Maybe 6 04s were in transport on a carrier truck?

firewiz Jul 16, 2004 09:39 PM

Im a city FF for Rochester NY, and I have NEVER seen a f150 burn yet! And if one did while I wasnt working, I am sure I would hear about it cause the boys would wanna bust my chops cause I have one!

i know a couple weeks ago on the news they announced ford had a massive recall list. no F-150s on it. if there were fire hazards there would be a recall out on them by now.

Rockpick Jul 16, 2004 10:15 PM

I believe it's the SUPER DUTY that has had a few recent issues with electrical fires/battery fires.
