Agreed. Not to mention your performance and braking suffers as well. One of the reasons I have not done this to my truck yet...

I'm not going to say that LuckyCharm13 is getting the mileage he claims, but I've lifted a few trucks myself, and have had varying results.

My last one (dodge 2500) did gain about 1.5 mpg on the freeway once I put it up on 35s. I attribute that to the fact that it brought my rpms down when cruising 80.

My point is not to say that the same thing will happen with an F150, but rather that you shouldn't jump to judgement...

There's another guy on here with a lift and big tires and he's getting around 9-10 mpg. I highly doubt LuckyCharm13 is getting what he claims.

Once again, I'm not trying to play tug-of-war, but you have to realize that even when you look at the other guys on here with NO MODS WHATSOEVER, you're going to see calims anywhere between 10 to 20 MPG.

Ok,

What do I have to gain by making up my gas mileage?

I watch this very carefully and have tested all speeds on the highway to get the best mileage. If I drive 65, the real 65 not speedo because it is off by 5mph, my RPM's are at 1400, damn near the peak horse power and torque for this motor, set the cruise and guess what? Great fuel economy. The start and stops to get the big rubber moving is what kills the MPG.....

That's why I say BS. You're claiming the same CITY mpg that I'm getting. City driving is a lot of starting and stopping, thus your mileage should suffer and it appears it isn't. The EPA fuel economy on the window sticker was 14mpg city and you say you get almost that with 35's? If I knew I could put on bigger tires and my mileage not suffer, I would do it in a heartbeat. I can't see it happening.

The window sticker is 14 stock truck...I put an intake and exaust that quite possible is giving me an extra 1 mpg so without the mods say 12-12.5 city. Just because it isnt commen, does not mean it can not happen. One true downside is the braking, which I will need to upgrade in the very near future. Now, what do I have to gain to make this up?

Looks nice. How do you like those procomps? I put on Procomps 35" about 4 months ago and mine run great. The guy that put the same on an H1 made me think nothing better and I guess he belived it because he bought some for his truck after installing mine.

I wondered about the nose heavy appearance of the truck before I put on the Procomp lift and it has looked more level after the lift. I have before and after lift pics listed.
