Question Wheel Backspacing Dilema

Does anyone know what the effects would be of installing an aftermarket wheel with a 20mm offset and 5.54 backspace on my 2004 4WD F150? The 17" Weld wheels I'm interested in have those specs. The 18" version (even more $$) have 40mm offset and 6.32 backspace which is what I've read somewhere is closer to factory specs. I do NOT want these things sticking beyond the fenders and would appreciate any knowledge you all to share.

O4 Tan,

Dont do it ! A +20mm positive offset will stick out way way too much. The stock wheels are a +44. I installed a +45 rim and a 275/55/20, which is not that much wider than the stock 255, and it still sticks out a 1/8 to a 1/4 inch.

newcrew, I've read some of your postings and you seem to know a thing or two on this topic. If you don't mind me asking what rim did you get and do you have pics posted? Thanks in advance.
