Canadian guys, price help please.

Going to the dealership tomorrow to try and leave with an:

04 fx4 with options and frieght totalling
a msrp of $49200. Canadian of course

Just wondering what you thing the dealer cost would be on this truck?
And what would be a good price for me to shoot for?

If any of you guys wouldn't mind posting the msrp of your similar truck and approximately what you payed it would be much appreciated.

Thanx in advance,
Iron

You should be able to buy that truck for about $43500?
My Lariat had a window sticker of $49130 and that's what I paid.

to get 5500 off the sticker price, you must have had no trade in and bought it with cash!

I got 11000 for my 99 cougar V6 and a thousand off sticker, with mudflaps and box liner thrown in, No steal but hey, it was winter here and nobody wanted to buy my car. I am happy, now they got 1000 in accessories and 4 year 0%. all i got was 0 for 3, heavy duty payments, living on bread suppers and crumb leftovers.

I got about $2000 off the sticker, plus the $1000 worth of accessories (current promo), and the box liner.

Actually I did have a trade in that deal. I offered $400 over invoice then negotiated the trade price for my 96 silverado Z71 and was very happy with the end result.Leased at $378 a month taxes in at 2.4% from Ford.
I can get anyone the $400 over deal. Don't be fooled by those who claim they bought under invoice as the difference has to be made up somewhere.

My sticker was 44355....got it for 39900.

I used Xplan

I've phoned dealers in Toronto, around the time I was buying mine, and they were slightly better in price WITHOUT x plan.

I just bought my 04 FX4, MSLP: 43250 $ CDN, I used the Xplan and got it for 36950 $ CDN + GST, if the dealer invoice was true their cost was 762 $ less than the 36950 $ , but it sort of looked like the invoice was made in microsoft word.

Also, I had no trade and I financed

Just as a point of reference, this was in Calgary. The dealer said he would give the same deal to anyone, because they are in some sort of contest.

I paid $35286 plus taxes. I had no trade.

My 04 Lariat Screw listed for $49020 and I got it for $44,645 less $750 for the Loyalty rebate + $22 (some unknown fee) = $43917.

I've had the truck for two weeks and LOVE IT!

This deal was in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. The local Calgary dealer I dealt with would not match the price. This is my 4th truck from the Wetaskiwin dealer.

Have a great day, and good luck.

Dave S.

I got almost 5 grand Canadian off my FX4. PLus the 1000 bucks of free accesories. It ended up being 500 bucks above dealer cost. (My dealer showed me the dealer cost, all good dealers should have no problem with that )

My advice? Don't work down from sticker price, work up from dealer cost. Tell your dealer you don't care what the sticker in the window says.
