has anyone installed one of the retrax bed covers? how is it, are you happy with the quality of it? im thinking about getting one but id like to hear about them. thanks

I don't like to reply to anyone's post with the reply "Use the search feature", but in this case, that's my best advice for you (you can restrict your search to just this forum to keep it simple). Several of us have purchased Retrax tonneau covers for our '04s, and there's been a bunch of threads going into detail about their installation, functionality, and pricing. I recently posted links to some of those threads in another Retrax thread in the "Other Aftermarket" forum.
It's worth learning about the Retrax, so you know exactly what to expect (they aren't cheap). You might even learn about some of the other tonneau covers available...theres a bunch of good ones.

I am very pleased with my Retrax. There are some pics in my gallery. If you have any specific questions that aren't discussed in those other threads, just ask.

i have it and like it ok, but there are definetely some draw backs to the roll-n-lock i had in my last truck. first, it's noisy as hell as it is very flimsy like from 50 mph and up causing a rattling sound. second, the lock cover doesn't stay closed (stays straight up allowing crud, moisture, etc into the lock mechanism). only thing better about it is the multiple open locking positions.

 

I like mine. Would still take it over the others...

 

I like mine, works as advertised, looks very well..Lock cover does pop open if not closed carefully..

 

Ristuccia, just wondering if you got the retrax. I live in Jax also so I was interested if you decided on the retrax or another cover and if you got a different one, which one and why? I have a new screw and think I'm just about ready to order a retrax but I still am apprehensive about the amount of water that seeps thru.

Just curious what you've found.

 

i never ended up getting one. i waited a bit and realized i didnt need all that covered space. a guy down the street from me got one on his chevy, he likes it a lot. as far as i know its a good product.

 

Well, thanks for the reply. I was hoping you were going to tell me that you got one and were really happy with it. I'm waiting on a reply for a quote - so I think I'm going to go ahead and order it.
