Cool I did it!

I'm new here. Ford will be buying back my 01 f250 Powerstroke because it was a lemon. So Friday after reviewing my choice's and going through alot of the posts on this board I ordered a F150. Ordered is a F150 Lariat SC, Arizona Beige, 5.5, 4+4, LS, Tow, Sliding RW. Can't wait to get it. Does anyone have any pictures of what I've ordered? Thanks.

Too bad about the Powerstroke, Ford does have some serious issues with their supplier surrounding those motors. Maybe they can source from Deere or Cat in the future!

Congrats on the new buy, I love my Lariat!

frankjr, if you don't mind me asking which motor was in your truck 7.3 or 6.0? Also what was the reason for Ford buying the truck back?

I've got a buddy who had to have his entire 7.3 replaced last summer. Apparently something in the turbo pedestal failed, the turbo overheated or self destructed and filled the motor with all sorts of tiny metal fragments which then destroyed all the bearings.

It was covered under warranty, but Ford told him what it would have cost had it not been under warranty and you don't even want to know what those motors cost.

A month after that it blew a rear main seal and spewed 10 quarts of oil before the oil light came on and he stopped it.

Needless to say he is pretty nervous right now because the warranty expired yesterday....

My other friend has a 6.0 in a '03 and it has been a good truck except for getting T-boned when it was 3 months old - now it is wearing the front tires out like no tomorrow and they can't seem to get that corrected.

It was a 7.3 and after all the problems I had with it I was not going to take any chances on a 6.0. I went through the ford dispute settlement board. Thats how I recieved the refund. This truck leaked oil since 2000 miles. Ford replaced the motor last summer and it still leaked. These diesels can be good motors but if you get a bad one watch out. I've had a 4.6 and a 5.4 before and had no prblems with them. So I'll take my chances with a 5.4 again.

I truly hate that you had problems with your 7.3. This is definetly very unusual. That 7.3 is one heck of a motor... I just hope the 6.0 is just as good. Only time will tell.
