Ford acc. mud flaps

Hi

To those of you that have installed the Ford accessories molded mud flaps how do you like them?
Was there any drilling involved (hate to drill holes in a new truck) or can you use any existing holes?

NO drilling required and a very easy install. Just make sure you specify to them whether or not you have the wheel well moldings. I was able to install the front pair with an electric screwdriver by turning the wheels (turn left to install the left side, right to install the right side). The rear, however, is a different story. Someone on this forum took the rear wheels off to install them, I just used a ratchet.

Like I said...very simple. A one beer job.

True...I threw the step bars on at the same time and it turned into a 4, 5, then 6 beer job. I had one G-D bracket that absolutely refused to work for me. I flung it across the yard 3 times, cussed it twice, shot at it twice, ran over it, pissed on it, then it fit. Weird how things work.

I like the mud guards, however I'm not sure of the durability yet. I broke one of the front ones off after only one week(not sure what it caught on). Ford wouldnt warranty it and they dont sell them individually. So I bought another set and now have three spares.

molded splash guards

I bought a set of molded spash guards from a local ford dealer. i ordered the ones with the lip molding as i have 2004 lariat, my question is has anybody put these guards on a truck with the black factory runningboards, because the front splashguards want to hit the front of the runningboards and not let it fit flush against the fender. are the running boards adjustable? can i slide them back a little? because of the weather around here i have not had a chance to get under my truck and check it out.

I was going to buy those also. I think I read that they will not fit properly if you have the factory molded runningboards. I decided to hold off. If you find a way to make them work please let us know and I'll probably get them.

bigmoe & indy,

You should check out these threads regarding the Ford mud guards and black factory running boards:
Ford Mud Flaps Don't Fit With Blk Running Boards!
Mud Flaps and Running Boards

The bottom line is that a few members were able to install the Ford mud guards with the black factory running boards, others cut their running boards, and other, like me, gave up on the Ford ones and went with other aftermarket. I chose the Husky Liners mud guards, which are very much like the Ford ones, except without the Ford logo. They fit very well.
I couldn't find any way to adjust the position of the running boards.

Good luck, and if you try to install the Ford mud guards, let us know whether they fit with your RBs.

Thanks for the heads up John. I think I'm going to order the Husky mud guards. Thanks again.
