Just a tire question regarding BFG's

Now that my truck is ordered. I want to research some tires. Can I put the BFG All Terrian 18" tires on my Lariat? If not what else woud be a good off road tire and on road tire that would fit an 18" rim? I can't find a Nitto dealer any where in Canada? I have lots of family and friends who live in the states who can probably order me a set of Nittos if it came right down to it.

Any thoughts?

I hear the BFG Rugged Trail A/T's work pretty well "on" and "off" the road. It's just a basic all around tire. But if you're going to do alot of off-roading, I'd stick with the All-Terrains. Because they have a more aggressive tread pattern. Just my .02

I believe the BFG ATs are 285/65r18. Unfortunately they require an 8" wide wheel. The Ford wheels are all 7.5".
Would it be safe to put them on anyway, don't know.

read this thread for this same discussion.

my quick answer is don't try to force it or you may regret it. don't go cheap on a $35k+ truck, buy new wheels if you really want bigger tires. but i encourage you to read that thread linked above for a full discussion.
