Motortrend TV Truck of the Year stuff..

Just saw the Motortrend TV episode where they announce the Truck of the Year. Some of the trucks in the running:

Titan
V10 Dodge something (fast truck)
GMC Canyon
Chevy Colorado
Tundra Supercab
I think a Silverado or something as well

All I can say is they really seemed to be overwhelmed by the F150. 46 different configurations. Next closest had 13 less.. Best ride, best finish, Great styling that should last, blah blah blah. I may have to go out and buy the magazine.

I thought they'd make a bigger deal about the Titan but they really didn't. They mentioned it was designed to go after the big three though. They said they liked the styling as well.

Over 4,000 miles on mine and still unbelievable. Drove 100 miles today in freezing rain. Steady as can be. I'm still totally happy with my decision. What a truck!

on Autoline Detroit this morning they stated that Nissan was a good truck but it seemed to be designed to out perform the LAST generation F150. The Panel included the editor of MT and 4 other industry dignitaries. They said they all voted the F150 as the TOTY because Ford has redefined the industry again with such a large truck, refined interior trim, and ergonomics.

Not my opinion, fact for all to see on Speed TV. So those of you who want to conform together as non-conformist and sing the praise of the Titan with blah blah blah just remember that second place is still the first loser. No trophy for that. Ford is still the standard.

Added note: They politely killed the GM Colorado and Silverado but said to look out for Toyota in the coming years. They also said that trucks used to be profit centers but now not as much due to the R&D and other costs added by the growing market competition.
