"Tan" it isn't.

Parchment maybe, or beige more like !

In fact in Europe (Possibly the US for all I know ) the Volvo range (Part of the Ford Empire) has EXACTLY the same leather which they call Parchment !

I know the window sticker calls it tan, but call or go to your nearest ford parts dept. and ask for a leather seat cover, it will be called medium or light parchment.
It was even called parchment in the 99-03 f150s.

I hope you realised "Clever ****" is a compliment where I come from, IF you don't know the person's real name !!!

(Do you think I got away with that one !)

Further to my last post I think one of the problems with this very popular forum is that new people are constantly coming on line and asking questions that have been posed before....sometimes months ago.

Some of us elder guys who find our grey cells fading rapidly forget what has gone before and assume that others will also forget !!!

Now you remind me, I do remember a post a couple of months ago about the names from parts depts not matching with those used by sales.

ie Tan= Parchment

I guess kidtriton that post was yours originally...am I right ?

I got an FX4 with the flint (gray) leather/"premium vinyl" because I thought the Lariat's tan looked to light and the black looked to dark. With the flint, it is a nice mix of light and dark materials. Plus, I had tan in my last vehicle and wanted something different. If I rake my fingernail across the seat surfaces on the '04, I can tell what is vinyl and leather (hard to explain). Ford did a good job of making the vinyl look like the leather surfaces on the '04. In past years, it was really easy to tell what was leather and what was vinyl. The vinyl had a heavy grain, while the leather was real smooth.

Lenny meant to say a high-pile 100% cotton terry towel. Go rob the bath towel closet... your wife/gf won't mind! LOL!

The old color was classified as 'Medium Parchment' if I'm not mistaken... not sure what they're calling the new interiors.
