Decision Time
One thing: My XLT has fold-in rear view mirrors.
The avalanche is kind of ugly - but that's completely besides the point.
The avalanche is an "okay" truck, but I would never go near one. They are too heavy for the engine and axles that they sit on - too slow, and don't have too impressive of towing/hauling #'s... Did I mention bad fuel efficiency?
Also when you're in "truck mode" you don't get to use your back seats, and you also have no barrier to the elements... not so fun.
Lastly, I have found on several 4x4 boards that I frequent, the avalanche is unlovingly known as the Tupperware truck.
