First oil/filter change at 1000 miles.

I changed the oil/filter for the 1st time this AM and was very surprised to find no trace of metal filings. In all past new vehicles, the oil from the 1st change always looked like metallic paint in the sunlight. Either this 5.4 doesn't generate filings or the factory filter is extremely efficient. The oil pan, protected by a sturdy bar, has a 5/8" drain plug (no metric?) and appears to be constructed of the new layered "quiet steel"...very tough/quiet. The oil filter is easily accessible, the first oil release drops straight down into the pan (not on a cross member), and the filter slides forward from the engine in a small trough (thoughtful of Ford). Although better than some filter locations, it's not as well placed as my '97 F250 LD which was located in the left wheelwell behind the fog light. I prefilled the filter with oil before installing (free oil was drained from the filter immediately before installation). Upon cranking the engine, there was instant oil pressure and NONE of the clatter that sometimes accompanies a dry start. After an initial fill of 6 qts., I added 1/2 qt. to top the engine off after warming. By prefilling the filter, the engine will not take the full 7th qt.
