and how does that differ than anyone elses truck 4wd system. The Chevy is not full time 4wd except the Denali. Their autotrac just auto senses wheel slip and puts in 4wd automatically. The Dodge...well...we wont even go there.

Rear Wheel bhp

I dyno'd my Lariat and hit 229 at the rear wheels.

18 mpg? I must be driving a different animal - don't get more than 14.5.

I hear that! My wife often says the problem with my truck is that there's a loose nut behind the steering wheel.

The 16 mpg figure pretty much agrees with what I'm seeing with mine (4x4 Lariat SuperCrew) when I'm on level terrain, but not on the highway. I average 11.5 right now, but that's with a lot of short trips over hilly terrain. The last half mile to my house is a 500' climb over a muddy road with loads of ruts. Dragging 3 tons up the hill kills the average mileage, but when I test it in 'normal' driving I see about 15.5 mpg.

well the 12.5 mpg was on the highwat at 80 mph but also had a 02 expedition that got 16-18 mpg with a 5.4! I'm hoping after the chips come out that i will be able to improve a little bit
