OK: More Q's on Lariat Interior Maint's
 

There have been several threads regarding interior maintainance - maybe we can consolidate the 'knowledge' into one package... My Larait Screw (in black) has 5 different materials; your opinions and experience on care and maintenance would be appreciated.

1) Leather - seats, steering wheel center, canopy over the gauges, console and interior door coverings.

2) Plastic - dash, and everywhere else...

3) Rubber - tray on top of dash, steering wheel spokes, ignition key surround.

4) And then there's that silver (plastic?, and, yes it will 'scratch')

5) Woodgrain - I can just see the protective coating peeling over time...

here's my experiences:

1) Leather - Meguiar's Gold Class Leather spray is awesome.

2) Plastic - I've tried Armor All wipes and Vinylex. Both work good on the black plastic and doors. Armor All is less streaky than Vinylex.

3) Rubber - Armor All

4) And then there's that silver - Nothing has worked good on this so far. Everything leaves streaks. I'm open to suggestions.

5) Woodgrain - It's plastic, and Armor All works pretty good.

6) Vinyl Back Seats (yes, your rear seats are vinyl in the Scab with Leather interior, not sure about the Screw). Vinylex works great on the seats but the shine rubs off easily and gets spotty. Same thing happens with Armor All, but to a lesser degree, so i will stick to Armor All.

Glass cleaner on the clear plastic guages, silver trim, and woodgrain.

Lexol Leather cleaner and conditioner (Ford leather seats are very hard from the factory)

303 Protectant for everything else (vinly, trim, dash, etc)

I'll second ALL of what APT said. Aerospace 303 is a fantastic protectant for both inside and out of our trucks. I also tried it on a small section of the silver trim and it looked great so I did the rest of the silver .It gives a nice shine without the overly glossy shine that most people don't want on their dash. It is also one of the best sunscreens out there and will minimize dust that will undoubtedly build up. It obviously won't stop it, but will help considerably the next few times you wipe it down. My woodgrain has only been wiped down with a weak solution of simple green and water and looks fine. Lexol and Meguiars both make very good leather cleaner/conditioner. You won't go wrong with either.

Where exactly is the leather portion on the leather trimmed seats in the Screw? Can you use Armoral on leather? I have the light tan seats and I have noticed that the edges of the seats get dark and need to be wiped frequently.

Not on the leather
 

ToughScrew-I wouldn't use the AmorAll on the leather. Leather is porous and needs to breath (so to speak) and Amorall more or less seals the surfaces you put it on. That's why it's fine on plastics, rubber, vinyl, etc. Use a leather cleaner and conditioner on leather seats. If you can't tell where the leather ends and the fake stuff begins, don't worry, it won't hurt the fake leather.

I believe the front lariat screw seats are leather and the rear seats are premium vinyl.
