Disappointing Paint Job on Blazing Yellow SCrew
When ever you paint a vehicle it impossible to match the paint, because what the factory uses is different than the repair shop. A touch up is much better in this situation than a repaint. There are many companies out there that can touch up the paint and you will never be able to tell it was damaged. Asking for a refund or a buy back is not even an option. It will not happen.
Have the dealer touch it up and be done with it.

i think we should be reasonable here. I agree that this sucks, but there is no legal case beyond a fix. i mean, if one were to try to take this to court the dealer's offer to touch up the paint would be seen in court as an acceptable fix unless you could prove otherwise. just saying that it will fade doesn't mean anything without proof. i wouldn't get fatboy0103@*** all riled up. you guys are right, he isn't getting a new truck, but what more can he expect than a touch up? will Ford really pay to have an outside body shop do it? and who is to say that the outside shop would do a better job than the dealer's guy?
Ford will be paying for it even though the dealer does the repair. They charge the body shop bill to ford. I would maybe try this: tell them if you don't like how thier "touch up" goes, you want a full repaint of the affected areas. I had some paint issues on the hood & front bumper of my '01 Cobra when I took delivery of it. I had to take it back after they painted my hood. I had overspray all over my 'vert top & the spray gun must of had something in the tip, it had little "pock marks" all over the hood. They thought I was being picky until I parked the car under some bright florescent lights & we circled the spots with a marker. The hood looked like a dalmation whan we were done. They did get it right finally.
Just make sure it's resolved to your satisfaction, but I wouldn't go in expection a new truck over it.

I take it to the dealer's body shop in the AM, I'll post results of the encounter.
Basically, all I'm looking for is a touch-up with a Warranty on it, that's all.
At least the problem is not on any flat, and highyly visible surfaces, it's only on the edge of the door and the hood.
Could've been a lot worse from what I've been reading on this thread.
I'll take the touch-up and run....
The truck is nothing short of perfection beyond the painted edges I have mentioned.
I have read some threads were folks had their engines replaced!!! UGHHH...
