From K&N Specs:
2004, 5.4L V8 F/I, Air Filter, E-0945, Replacement Air Filter, F150 Heritage only, F250, F350

that part won't fit on the new 5.4L i don't think.

just talked to K&N

Thanks Brewmaster. I talked to K&N tech guy and he said it won't fit on 2004 screw.

I am going to return it to styling concepts.

Yeah, the 3v 5.4 has the really restricive looking new intake. Looks like it uses a flat-panel air filter. I have a feeling a FIPK will help the new 5.4 alot.

Hi,

My '04 5.4L Screw has a little slide out tray with a square air filter, it does not take the cone type filter.

K&N does not have this filter yet.

I e-mailed K&N and their product development team replied that a filter IS NOT availabe for the 2004 5.4L F-150. The link I provided in my previous post will get you on a notification list when the filter is available.

i believe the 4.6L will be the same as last year. the FIPK will be different, but the filter should be the same. it is the same part number, E-0945.

Red04......So are you able to notice any difference in performance at all with the K & N? I have a 4.6 as well.

I had a K&N on my 1998 F150 w/ 4.6. I gained about 1 mpg in city and hwy driving (documented). With my current 2001 w/5.4 I did not gain much mpg at all.

My guess is that the 4.6 is much more air restrictive than the 5.4.

I dropped one in my 2000 F-150 w/ the 4.2 V6 and got an increase of 3 mpg from 12 to 15. But my wifes explorer w/ the 4.0 V6 did not get much gains.
