FX4 Screw w/BFG 285/70R17's (Pics)

Well, I got the tires on and they're working Great! No rub issues at all. Diameter is 32.7 or so.. BFG Radial All Terrain KO's mounted to the stock 17" wheels. I got them for 220 a piece, mounted, balanced, blah blah blah, and they gave me $70 a each for the stock Generals

I just did my first road trip (1800 miles). Best mileage I got was 13.4. This is pulling a light trailer with two dirtbikes on it and a bunch of gear with the cruise set at 76.. I'm still hoping it gets better. Everyone loves this thing. My buddy that drove down with me (a dodge guy) was really impressed. Personally, I can't be happier with this vehicle and can't think of anything more practical for my purposes. It handles great, drives like a car, but is a big, burly truck. I still want a cap for it though.

Of course pulling out of the tire place I had to lay a little scratch just to make sure the tires were seated to the rims properly This truck Rocks!!!

Here's some pics.

That looks great(love the DSG color) I always did like those tires. Just wanted to know about what you were turning(rpm wise) at around 76mph? My truck says it has the 3.73 gears and I only turn 2000rpm at 80mph. The first 300 miles I also got around 17.14 mpg so I am curious what gear is in this thing.

The BFG's look great. It's amazing how a set of tires can change the look of a truck. But, I'm a little confused. I thought the FX-4's came with 18 inch rims. Are those 285/65-18 BFG's or 285/70-17's? Just curious, and nice Screw. The 04's are growing on me fast!

I've got 3:73 gears. At 76 I'm a little over 2100rpm's in overdrive.

The truck comes standard with 17 inch wheels and Generals. The 18 inch wheel is an option that I didn't get, knowing I would install bigger tires.

The tires are very quiet on the road.

Thanks!

Beautiful truck, wondering what you got for the interior. Can you post a pic of the inside ? I'm looking for a pic of the black or medium flint sport cloth.

Wow!....looks great!...BF Goodrich is making 285/65/18's too, may hafta get a set for my ride when it shows up!....Great color (truck) and all...really have a nice truck there!. I even like the rims....They look slighty different than the 18 inch FX4 rims don't they?....I think I like the 17's better...

Those tires really help the look with those 17" rims.

Yea, I think it changes the whole look of the truck.

I've got the black cloth interior with the captains chairs and the center console. I'll get a pic...

I think the most important question is what did it do to your speedo? Im thinking about going with the 285/65/18's and must know if its going to get REAL expensive. Im even considering those 2.5" spacers, just to make sure nothing rubs.

I believe the speedo to be off by about 5%. I'm going to look into getting the speedo recalibrated but I'm not too concerned about it really..

Very nice truck... Like you I'm thinking of getting the 17" rims and up sizing the tires later... However, I've never seen a picture of the FX4 with the stock 17 inch tires, wondering if you could post your before pictures...? Or anyone else with stock tires on FX4 17".

Thanks.

No problem. Here's a pic of it with the stock 17 inch Generals.
