Don't you just dread that first ding !!!

Pick your new vehicle up....proud as punch....not a mark on it....boy is it going to stop that way.....6 days later, first good clean.....where the hell did that ding come from?!

Actually we heard ours.....driving across the causeway bridge onto South Padre Island Tx.
Loud thud sounded like something being thrown up under the truck.

Thought no more about it until later that day decided to polish for the first time.
TWO large deep dings right above the passenger door handle.

Right in line of sight where you can't miss seing them.

How the hell did they get on the SIDE of the truck that high up !!!

Oh well, don't have to worry so much about the next ding now !!

I got mine when a friend was putting his child in the backseat of my supercab. He didn't get the front door into one of the "stop points" and while he was putting the kid in the child seat it swung open. I could have killed him, but there were too many people around.

Speaking of that. Anyone know a good place to buy edge tape for the door that is color matched? Or recommend how to find a place that would do it. Didn't really want to ask the dealer because I expect to be charged way more than is reasonable for it.

Lenticular...you ought to consider one of the "paintless" repair shops...they do excellent work on door dings if it's in the right spot for them to get at it. Sounds like your's is do-able.

Thanks for the reminder.....
I suppose in truth it's more of a deep chip than an actual ding....but still might get someone to check it out.

Cheers

Those dentless guys work wonders. I got really small but deep ding right behind the drivers door on my dark read 97 supercab step sides from parking lot door parked next to mine.
I met my dentless guy at a large deals lot, 45 mins later, it was 99% GONE. He did a great job (think this guy was with Dentwizard). Got to get him to work on my wifes LS Link. and fix the few on her car in the next month or so. It was like 120-150 bucks, but it was well worth it, kept the org. paint and I was back home in 2 hours
