Got a Line-X
Just had my Line-X put in today and they asked if I wanted the six bed bolts removed and I said no that is fine. They removed all the other stuff like the tailgate bolts and tie downs though. I think this thing will serve me great and it looks great too. Said it was the first flareside they have had come in but they have done tons of the styleside and supercrew beds.
Due to the plastic bed caps, I realize that everyone is getting their bed liners sprayed in under the rail. But, would it even be possible to have the plastic caps sprayed so that they won't get scratched up over time? Is there a reason they couldn't be removed, sprayed and then reinstalled? I know it's a truck, but it seems like a shame to have such a nice looking bed liner to then possibly have the plastic caps get all scratched up. Just curious.
Cheers.

i don't think the caps will fit properly if you spray under them. what would be the point anyway? you would be covering what you sprayed on so you really wouldn't need to spray it in the first place. also, i don't think most spray in dealers would know how to remove and re-install them correctly.
btw, i got my bed sprayed this past Saturday. it is sweet. i watched the whole thing (including the guy smoking a cigarette while he was spraying the bed
). it was a quick 1.5 hours from start to finish. only takes them 10 minutes of of actual spraying, the rest is prep. anyway, out the door it was $327 b/c of the $50 coupon. well worth it. i don't have any pics up, but you all know what it looks like anyway.

I was wondering if it would be possible to spray the covers. I'm not at all sure what it would look like with them removed and then sprayed over the rail. It was just a thought. I really like the finished look they give the bed of the truck, I was just curious if they could also be sprayed instead of just leaving them the way they are and ending up getting scratched over time.

They can spray damn near anything you want. I saw a truck that had the under side of the bed sprayed to protect from corrosion. Line-X has sprayed Navy submarine decks (similar product, but not exaclty the same formulation), parking meters, fire hydrants, etc. I don't know about the rail caps, but I don't see why not. Call a local dealer and ask them. They might charge you a little extra as they always do for the over-the-rail jobs, but it should be reasonable. If you like the look, i think it's a great idea. Who knows, if my caps get really beaten up, I may go that route too.

I'll have to check. I've checked so many things lately I can't remember. There might be one in Allentown PA. But that's still about 2 1/2 hours.
