Reviews from new owners

It seems that lately a lot of people are taking delivery of ordered trucks. So, let's hear about 'em! Is it everything you hoped for and expected. Many have posted pics, which are great, but I hope to hear some more detailed reviews of these new rides. In hindsight, would you have done anything differently? Your likes and dislikes. New 5.4 enough for you? Seats comfy? Etc......

I'm a repeat F-150 buyer ( every two years or so for the past fifteen ) and my 2001 Lariat Scab 4x4 is overdue for replacement. I'm one of the many who is considering an '04, but need a little push. I'm not in love yet, but I'm deeply in like! Help me over the hump...........

If you are not in love, its because you have not driven one yet. Now I for one, still like the stiff ride of a truck, but this is much more car like. It will be great for long trips. It still rides like a truck, just better. I have a Lariat, so mine is decked out like a luxary car, so I can have the best of both worlds. I think if you drive one, it is all over. I have had a 97, 98 and 2000 F-150 and none of them compare to this one.

Even if you decide to hang on to your existing truck, you still have a great ride...so whatever you decide to do, will be good either way.

good luck

This is NOT an in depth review......

Simply a comment on the ride and noise suppression in the F150 Lariat that I just bought.

I live in the UK most of the year and have some "quality" motor cars to use.
Bentley, Aston Martin etc.
Every time I have come back from the UK for the last couple of years and got my 01 out of storage...... after as much as 7 months this year....I am surprised to be reminded how quiet and excellent a ride the truck is...even compared with vehicles such as those mentioned.

I have now had my new '04 Lariat for a week and it is EVEN BETTER.

It is so quiet inside sometimes we wonder if the motor has quit !!!

The ride is silky smooth and I am totally impressed with how Ford has managed all this in a truck !!!

pepatrick,

I've have actually driven one, Lariat Scab 4x4, for 20 miles or so and have sat in many. Loved the ride, handling and quietness, but thought the engine felt a bit, well, soft. There was a some lag with the "drive by wire" setup. Anyone else experience this?

I'm one these guys that researches endlessly before ordering my trucks. My last two trucks, '99 and '01 Lariat 4x4's, have been black. Not sure if I can do black again. I'm getting lazy as I get older and don't get around to washing it as much as I used to. Love the silver, but Ford won't do the Lariat in silver, so the FX4 is getting a look today.

"netiquette" please Clem.

It's a bit dispiriting when one replies to a post to find that the next post from the originator totally ignores that most recent reply !!
