First test of rear bumper

Well, I've had my FX4 for 5 weeks now and love it. Driving home this evening I stopped in traffic and some moron hit me in the rear end at about 20 mph. Tore his nissan extera front end all to pieces with radiator and grill/bumper destroyed. Hood was buckled up as well as front fenders. Couldn't open front doors. Well needless to say I was pissed!!!! Expected to see severe damage to my truck, but to my surprise I only have damage to the bumper and nothing else. Seems like the bumper is attached closely to the drop hitch with the trailor tow package for strength. No way my 2002 would have stood up as well. Glad it's built FORD tough. Now all I need is a new bumper.

THAT SUCKS!!! at least it sounds like the damage is reasonable. I know the feeling because mine was keyed with 1400 miles on it. I hope ford is able to get you the parts within a reasonable amount of time. Good luck and sorry to hear about it.

Give us a report after teardown. I've seen a lot of vehicles with "hidden" damage that you can't tell until its torn down. Sounds like it held up well though.

Sorry to here about the mess.
