I'm worried: I ordered black leather in my FX4. When I got a copy of my invoice, it reads "QB BLACK INTERIOR W/FLINT SEATS". I'm pretty sure they screwed up my order. I think the code for black leather is "JB" and the code for grey leather is "QB". Does anybody know for sure???

Why dont you just call the dealer and find out?

 

Because, like most dealers described on this site, I know more than he does about these trucks. His manager said that QB was a black AND grey combination leather... we all know that's wrong! Besides... my dealer asked me to let him know when my truck would be there since I have access to guys like Bigmac and SCrewbuilder.

 

I would wait for one of them then. They are great guys. It would also help if you did not post it in more than one thread! Don't be a thread hogger... LOL

The manager is right ,the seats will be gray ,door panels and trim will be 2 tone black&gray.Why I know this is my FX4 came in this way,I didn't take it.They reordered for me,dealer said ford messed up so ford put order up to priority 1 said 2 weeks.

The way the dealer described it is that the SEATS were 2-tone not just the trim, that's why I knew he was wrong.

So you didn't like the grey, huh? I haven't seen either one (black or grey) so I don't know what to do. I'll go look at it when it comes in, but... I don't know.

It's interesting that they moved yours up a notch on the priority list the second time around....

 

Its NP man. I was just razzin you. If I were in your shoes, I would be super anxious to get mine as well.

I bought an 03 last year and love it, plan on keeping it a long time.

Who knows, by the time I am ready for another truck, it might be the last year of this new 04 body style!

I actually like the grey leather seats. When I ordered my FX4 I was told that I could only get the chairs in black leather. For me, that is a little too much black in the cab. Way HOT HOT HOT. I was shocked when I saw those grey leather seats. I think they actually compliment the interior. I am driving my truck and I like it just the way it is!

 

The more I think about it, the more I think I will like the grey. I think I'm just afraid it will be too light in color, you know? I've never liked a light colored interior in trucks, that's why I stay away from tan leather. I think tan is really nice looking, don't get me wrong, but I think darker interior are more sporty.

Sorry, guess I never said what I had. I have the grey seats and they are way cool. My truck is the Supercrew FX4 in Dark Shadow Grey. I have the black running board and it makes my truck rock!The seat color matches the grey on the door panels. The break up is just right. I think black would have been just way way too hot.

I am stuck in the ice age so I am unable to post pictures. I will hopefully try to get something on this site in the next week or so. I have to borrow a digital camera from a friend.

Go with what works best for you.

When I saw your post I was like ohh mygosh, I better check mine. My order has the JB code for black leather so I am happy again now! Are you still planning on sticking with the gray? I'm not sure how I would handle having to wait twice by having to reorder!!

 

This weekend I went to Kings Island with my girlfriend and drove passed a big Ford dealership. I decided to stop and see what they had... Sure enough, they had two FX4's side by side. They were both Supercabs (Very sharp). They weren't leather, but one had the black interior and the other had the grey... although both are very sharp... I left the dealership feeling sick... I REALLY want the black. So I called my dealer this morning and told him to go ahead and order the RIGHT truck even though I'll have to wait until freakin' CHRISTMAS!!!

It's just too much money to spend not get what I want.

So close... yet sooooo far away...

Stopping at the Fords dealer at lunch today, I saw a grey FX4 with grey interior (w/captain chairs & console) and thought it might be worth mentioning to those here on the fence about interior colors; my first impression was that the black leather on the lid of the console just jumped out at me and somehow looked really out of place and did not (IMO) blend well with the rest of the interior. Between the black carpet and black console lid, it was just too busy for my tastes.
