Question for the VIN Helpers
Question for the VIN Helpers
Oh great masters of Ford's Infernal Contraptions (Computers). Please Help Me . My truck was supposedly built this week. Hopefully, I have gotten lucky and its already shipped as well.
Since I ordered the vehicle July 12, my 1999 Expedition has been in the shop 3 times (one time each month) for $350 the first time, $270 the second time, and $199 this past time (just picked it up).
Please run my VIN to confirm that it was built this week. Once it ships I can get rid of my Expedition before it breaks again.

Thank you repeatedly in advance for your help.

BigMacFX4,
First of all, Thanks BigMacFX4 for your research. Fortunately, MIL bought a new Ranger that she's letting me drive. She does like me more than her daughter (Just ask my wife). So I guess the Expedition will sit on the dealer lot for a couple of weeks. If you don't mind I may get you to rerun it the end of next week to find out what is going on. The dealer, really a great guy, is being treated like a mushroom by his Ford Rep. He/I was told the vehicle was seralized during the week of 9/8 and was to be built this week. Oh Well. I am not paying taxes out the gate on the new F150. The Expedition can sit until I know the F150 is coming.
Moveover,
Biggest thing wrong is 145000 miles. I put about 30000-35000 miles per year on a vehicle. I will not keep another one 150000 miles with that kind of driving. My mistake. Now in the Expedition's defense up until 140,000 miles everything was great other than normal service only had to replace one axle seal and the ABS sensor that got damaged by the rearend lub as a result of the leaking axle seal. I also carried about 500-750lbs of tools in the back of the Expedition as well so it did stay loaded. So its really been a great truck. Last three repairs were for an alternator, an O2 sensor that died (and finding that problem), and to replace the idle air control valve. In an among themselves not big deals. However, given that these repairs have all occurred since I ordered the F-150 I kinda hacked. One thing I have learned. NEVER EVER TALK IN FRONT OF YOUR VEHICLE THAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET RID OF IT. IT OBVISOULY HAS FEELINGS TOO.

You know, my 97 had NEVER given me a bit of problem, and on they way back from the dealer (after ordering a 04 screw) I heard a rear universal joint going bad, and two week later the front one, now a check engine light has been on twice this week. ( I checked, I still have an engine
) Sheezzz, maybe old red does have ... feelings ?
HOLY CANOLI! You guys are right. The V-Ride (Volvo) has had problems for 6 months or so, but since I ordered my 04 Scab, EVERTIME I am driving to and from work (30 mile freeway run each way) the V-Ride kicks into overdrive at some point along the way, usually about half way. I can't turn it off either, it turns itself on and off. Scares the hell outta me each time as i am driving at 75mph at 2500 rpm and all of a sudden it shoots up to 4000rpm for 30 seconds or so.
i love you V-Ride, I promise I will keep you forever...
