New thread on 04 Incentives

Well, now I can say mine has arrived and I have probably waited longer than anyone on this board for it to do so. Ordered my Lariat Screw, Black over Az. Beige – just like Bigsherm77’s except mine is a Screw, in late April and it has just arrived at the dealership. Maybe the two-tone held it up due to allocation or one of the other items mentioned in the informative post by XCR regarding orders.

Anyway, do any of you “insiders” have any info about possible incentives? I told my dealer I was not picking up my truck until 10/01 & was going to hold my breath that something might be offered starting then to respond to GM’s and Chrysler’s incentives on ‘04s. In my area, at “decent” GM dealerships, you can get a high end 04 GMCs or Chevys at, or near invoice, plus $2,500. or $1,000. and low interest, or 0% interest.

Well Screwdrive , I'm in the same situation as you , my dealer says my lariat screw will be on his lot this week , and after waiting longer than I have ever waited , and I have ordered (7) ford f150"s over the years, (ordered this one 07/03 ) I think I will wait until 10/01 and see if some rebates appear. after waiting (3) months what is a few more days!

RUMOR ALERT!!!

I've had a few hints from dealers that there may be a factory rebate starting around Thanksgiving, perhaps Thanksgiving weekend.

Decide for yourself whether you beleive them or not

Patient - not really. Like I said, I have been waiting since the late April and since about that time I have been without a truck. I leased a 2000 Lariat Scab in May of 2000 thinking that since Ford’s 100th anniversary was 2003 they would release the new truck in 2003.

My plan, drive the 2000 & then trade it for the new body style in 2003 (unless it was butt ugly) Well, since the new body style was not released in 2003 my plan went sour and my lease was up. Ford would not let me go on a month-to-month deal awaiting my 04 to come in and the dealer barely offered me the residual and the truck only had 19K miles and was actually better than new – color sanded, Gibson sport exhaust, Ford bed liner, Ford tonneau cover, Michelins instead of the BFGs, auto-dimming mirror with inside cab temp reading, oil & filter changes every 2K miles, etc.

So, I sold the Scab and made few bucks and started driving a 1983 Chrysler Lebaron Town & Country Marc Cross Edition that was my mothers – for you who do not know what that is – it is a Chrysler K car station wagon still in the shipping crate (wood on the sides) with every toy Chrysler had in the option box including a talking voice. (My mom loved that car). But I digress. Full size pickup to a roller skate….. Yes, I am getting a bit impatient but surely Ford will have to respond to the offers GM and Chrysler currently have and all existing Ford incentives end 09/30.

Who knows, maybe I will just buy a 2003 T-bird. They now have a $4K incentive and I have become accustomed to shoehorning my full-figured body into a roller skate.

Anybody want a Town & Country Wagon to go along with his or her pseudo-classic Town & Country convertible?

Screwdriver.

with the mixed reviews and the obvious "rush to market" quality of the new trucks plus the fact that everyone that wanted a new truck has one now with the past 6 months of 0% financing and dodge and chev still offering 0% and with Xmas season comming on..... I could go on forever, Ford is gunna have to come up with some good incentives for guiney pigs to buy there first model truck. Plus Dodge has 7 year powertrain warrenty, not sure what chev, toyota and new nissan titan has, Ford seems frightened to even offer 5 year at this point. If Ford doesn't believe in its product, than why should we pay TOP dollar for a truck that doesn't seem worth the money. Just because they made it like a car, doesn't mean its worth 45000 dollars.

My salesman told me last night that the lowest rate is at 2.9%,just started in the last week or so. I am in the same boat as others here, my truck should be in at the end of the month but since the current programs end 9-30 I won't take delvery until after 10-1

I fully agree! and also, does Ford still offer only a 3yr/36k warranty? I think its time for that standard to rise.

Dodge does offer the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty. But what the don't tell you is you have to pay extra for it just like the Ford ESP plans. Also last time I checked you could get a 100,000 mile warranty form Ford.

That is true, companies like Dodge just price them in. If you really think your getting a 7/100,00 warranty for nothing then your in bad shape. Nothing is free. I believe the reason Ford don't offer that type of warranty is because it would add about $2,000 to the price...

Why add $2,000 to the price instead of letting the buyer make the choice themselves...
