It's Finally Here !!!....
I pick it up today, but just to shed a little light on the situation... (a little long winded, but my exerience)
Last week, my dealer (who went on vacation on 9/15) told me that my truck would be arriving by train on 9/16. Well, on 9/19 the sales manager had no idea where it was. Said it was at the train yard but hasn't arrived at the dealer. I stopped by the dealer the past Saturday, 9/20, and he said that they would send a porter to pick it up when it was checked in at the yard. I told him that I'd rather have it come in on a truck because I don't want someone else putting the miles on it. He said "it should be in any day now." Well, he called me that night (Sat) about 8pm and said my truck will be in late that evening or early Sunday, so I called hiim back Sunday morning and whattaya know.... my truck was there. BUT, the service department doesn't work on Sun., so I couldn't get it yesterday.. (dammit). Anyway, I went back on Sun. to take a look at my truck (which was buried among vehicles) and asked if we could get the paperwork and such out of the way so I can show up on Monday (TODAY !!) and drive my truck away without waiting. He said no problem (sounded reluctant) but he didn't know the price that I had negotiated with my guy. I told him there was no negotiating because I'm A-Plan... and he perked right up. Then he said, OK.. no problem, we have special financing rates. I told him I don't need it as I'm paying cash for the vehicle.... his eyes lit up.... and thereafter he was sweet as pie to my wife and I. While I was there, they gave me the invoice and it had a check-in date of 9/18. My question to the dealers out there is...Is this the check-on date for the dealer or the train yard? I would assume it's for the dealer and am a little miffed that they didn't walk back there to look and see if the truck was there. They had a customer's ordered truck on hand and had no idea it was there ! (a little suspicious to me) Anyway, that's my story for the past week or so. No different from anyone else, but had to share. Pick it up today @ 4pm and I'll try to post pics soon.
