First Overhead rail kit arrives.

I got my first Overhead rail kit in today. It's the freeway package and picutes are in this gallery.

https://www.f150online.com/galleries...w.cfm?num=4488

It's the same bins as the one thats included in the truck. The drop in boxes are OK, but nothing really special, snake lights are kind of cheesy in my opionion, but would work well.

Anybody heard if Ford is going to offer the DVD player for the supercabs, or is it going to be strictly for supercrews?

I'll wait for the DVD player to occupy the space instead of the kits. I think it'll get more use.

It'd be nice if the snakelights were rechargeable, and if they charged while they were stored in there.

The early literature I saw said the DVD would be for the s/cab too. Anyone see more recent info?

From what is shown in the new brochure it will only be offered for the supercrew lariat, but I would imagine that would be from the factory. Hopefully from the dealer it would be available for the supercab too.

The info so far doesn't mention the DVD as an add on. I know its coming as they had it on display at the ride and drive. I didn't ask whether it would fit in a Supercab or not. I assume it will fit (same rail system), but I don't know if the TV screen will be far enough forward for anyone to see it.

XCR440SP: Did you get these at a dealership or order them from Ford. Additionally, How much was the Interstate Kit?

I am a dealer. See the sticky post on top for a part number and price list. I put all the currently available packages on that post.

when i look at that it doesn't seem worth it to buy the CD case from Ford. I mean, i can buy one of the storage compartments from Ford and throw my own CD case in their, it's cheaper. and the flashlights don't recharge in the overhead space? that sucks. i'll pass. i was looking forward to them for that exact reason.

If things stay the way their listed now, I think the way to go is to buy the whole kit. I looked up a bin like the 1 thats installed from the factory and the 2 that come with the kit and they list for $108, so unless Ford accesories starts selling them cheaper, the whole kit (2 bins and the other stuff) is cheaper, even if you throw the CD case and sunglass holder away. I don't know if the more expensive kits are worth it (unless you want whats in them), but the $99 kit I think is going to be the cheapest way to get bins.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the cabin air is carefully regulated for your comfort. However, should we experience a sudden loss of cabin pressure, oxygen masks will drop from the overhead compartment. Please place the mask on your face before helping others..."

Can I get O2 maks for the overhead passenger service units? I think I will see if there are some old units at a local air salvage yard and install them as a joke

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for flying the new Ford F150, we hope to see you again next time you..."
