Thanks

I've been waiting to see some black STX pictures. Every other STX I've seen pictures of has been red or silver. I have a black one (regular cab) on order. I was leaning toward red, but with all the black accents (door handles, mirrors, grille, bumper guard, etc.) I thought black would look better (totally monotone). These pictures have confirmed it. I love the look! Thanks for posting these.

Thanks for the pics Mike. That is a nice truck, I wish they would offer the 5.4 on the STX though. Thanks again.

Is that an aluminum manifold on there? Didn't Ford switch to a plastic manifold? They did on the 4.2L and on my in-laws' 4.6L Lincoln motor.

That sure did look like aluminum. I have not yet seen the 4.6 in the 04's though. Wonder if they did it for durability.

My parents have a 01 Merc Grand Marquis w/ 4.6 and I have an 00 F150 w/ 5.4 and both of them have plastic intakes and valve covers. I read somewhere a while back that it's a special kind of plastic made by DuPont.

Yeah, my 99 w/ 4.2L has the aluminum intake (thank goodness). They switched somethime after that. I was just wondering about the 4.6L.

My 01' 4.2L has the big black plastic intake. But my valve covers are metal. I wonder why ford changed over to plastic intakes?

Not totally sure, but I imagine it's probally cheaper.
